Job summary

Goodwill-Solac seeks an Language Interpreter for Independent Contractor roles in the Long Beach area. The interpreter will provide interpretation in medical, business, and education settings, both in person and remotely, upholding confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.

Fluency in English and a target language is required, with certification or testing in interpretation. Background checks and Livescan are mandatory, and adherence to CHIA Code of Conduct is expected.

Job Description:

• Rates are negotiable*
• Be fluent in both English and target language
• Be Certified or be prepared to be tested in interpreted language
• Be prepared to have Livescan and Background Checks conducted
• Be familiar with HIPPA and Cultural Sensitivity trainings
• Adhere to CHIA Professional Code of Conduct standards
• Be comfortable with the consecutive interpretation process (Simultaneous a plus)
• Strong passion for interpreting and customer service.
• Facilitate interpretation in a variety of subjects: in Medical, Business, and Education Settings
• Be experienced with both face to face and remote interpreting.
