Interlingva, Inc. is seeking independent contractor interpreters to provide professional medical, legal, and community interpreting services across the United States.

Assignments are conducted by phone or Zoom with flexible scheduling and ongoing opportunities based on demand and qualifications. Candidates must be bilingual with English, have proven interpretation experience in healthcare settings, and maintain a quiet, private workspace with reliable equipment and internet.

Qualifications

• Fluency in target language(s) and English.

This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities. The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Assignments are conducted entirely through phone or Zoom and are available on a regular basis, depending on the demand for specific languages and the interpreters qualifications.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both the target language(s) and English
• Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
• Strong ability to interpret orally between the target language(s) and English in both directions
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
• Must have a reliable phone, a laptop or desktop computer, and a stable high-speed internet connection
• Access to a quiet, private workspace to support remote assignments
