Job summary

Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter to work as an independent contractor. Fluency in English and ASL is required, with the ability to serve across medical, business, and education settings.

Candidates should hold RID/EIPA/NIC/NAD CI/CT certifications or be in process, and be prepared for Livescan and background checks. Knowledge of HIPAA, cultural sensitivity, and CHIA Code of Conduct is essential; experience with both in-person and remote

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and ASL.

• Willingness to undergo Livescan and background checks.

Job Description

• Rates are negotiable*
• Be fluent in both English and ASL
• Be RID Certified, in process, or EIPA, NIC, NAD CI, CT or equivalent
• Be prepared to have Livescan and Background Checks conducted
• Be familiar with HIPPA and Cultural Sensitivity trainings
• Adhere to CHIA Professional Code of Conduct standards
• Be comfortable with the consecutive interpretation process (Simultaneous a plus)
• Strong passion for interpreting and customer service.
• Facilitate interpretation in a variety of subjects: in Medical, Business, and Education Settings
• Be experienced with both face to face and remote interpreting.
