Job summary

Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, MO seeks an interpretive programs assistant for a part-time role (24 hours/week) with evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

You will develop engaging, non-structured programming across key Garden spaces, and collaborate with the Interpretation Team to deliver hands-on learning for visitors of all ages. You will maintain displays, provide visitor information, and support safety and operational needs while contributing to ongoing interpretive

Qualifications

• Associates degree in education, science education, ecology, environmental science, natural resources, public horticulture, interpretation or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience delivering interpretive programs to diverse audiences is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a wide range of interpretive programming and experiential learning opportunities across the Garden.
• Engage visitors and provide information on Garden opportunities, ensuring a positive educational experience.
• Maintain interpretive displays and props; assist with safety and maintenance needs.
• Plan and conduct tours or guided experiences as needed; support special exhibits and events.
• Perform administrative tasks and assist with department coordination and meetings.
• Work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
