Inspiritus’ Refugee & Immigrant Services (RIS) Department works to build welcoming communities for refugees and immigrants and accompanies newcomers on a path from surviving to thriving. Under the direction of the Manager for Strategic Partnerships, the Interpretation Services Coordinator will lead the design, development, and implementation of a fee-based language services program that provides high-quality interpreting services to members of the refugee and immigrant community, nonprofit partners, and other organizations serving individuals with limited English proficiency. The coordinator will work closely with organizational leadership to establish a sustainable program that generates revenue while advancing the organization's mission and reducing language barriers to critical community resources.

Position Details
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend events may also be required.

  • Salary range- $48,000-$52,000
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the fee-based language services program, including service offerings, workflows, policies, procedures, and operational systems.
  • Establish systems for scheduling, service requests, interpreter assignment, documentation, invoicing, payment tracking, and reporting.
  • Coordinate interpreting and translation requests from initial inquiry through completion and follow-up.
  • Schedule and assign qualified interpreters based on language, availability, location, specialization, and client needs.
  • Recruit, onboard, and maintain a qualified network of interpreters and translators.
  • Develop and coordinate orientation and training for new interpreters and language service providers.
  • Establish and maintain interpreter qualification, credentialing, and documentation processes.
  • Support ongoing professional development and quality improvement for interpreters.
  • Develop and maintain standards and expectations for professional language service delivery.
  • Track service hours, fees, expenses, payments, and outstanding balances.
  • Develop program goals, performance measures, and revenue targets and monitor progress toward established objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand language services, service offerings, and client markets.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records related to clients, interpreters, services, invoices, and program outcomes.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies, contractual requirements, and applicable language access and confidentiality standards.
  • Develop regular reports related to service volume, languages requested, clients served, revenue, expenses, customer satisfaction, and other key performance indicators.
  • Evaluate program performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, quality, client satisfaction, and revenue.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, social services, language services, communications, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, professional experience, competencies, skills, and knowledge that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position.
  • Experience coordinating interpreting, translation, language access, social services, or community-based programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset and ability to build programs, processes, partnerships, or initiatives from the ground up, navigate ambiguity, and translate ideas into effective, sustainable programs and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with external organizations and clients.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with organizational leadership and colleagues.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and individuals from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills strongly preferred.
