Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. in Alabama is offering a paid internship focused on data analytics and digitalization for the Paint Shop.

You will review and implement digital systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and create Power BI and Ignition visualizations for production and business processes. Ideal candidates are university students in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least three semesters, plus programming experience.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in university with at least 3 semesters in a relevant field.
• Studying Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field; programming experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review and implement digital systems to support Paint Shop operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational transparency and visibility.
• Create and enhance Power BI and Ignition visualizations for production and business processes.
• Develop reporting tools for cost, cycle time, fault, OEE, and quality metrics.
• Support digitalization initiatives to improve process monitoring and decision-making.
• Assist with AI-supported tools within Paint Shop operations.
• Participate in daily status reviews and workshops.

Essential Functions:

• Support with review and implementation of digital systems to support the operation of the Paint Shop

• Collaborate with existing teams to develop solutions that improve operational transparency and visibility

• Create and enhance Power BI and Ignition visualizations for production and business processes

• Develop reporting and visualization tools for cost, cycle time, fault, OEE, and quality metrics

• Support digitalization initiatives that improve process monitoring and decision-making

• Assist with the implementation and evaluation of AI-supported tools and systems within Paint Shop operations

Other Regular Daily Tasks:

• Participation in daily status reviews, strategy meetings and workshops
• Participation in preparation for management presentations and walk throughs
• Participation in shop walks and Continuous Improvement activities

Qualifikationen

Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education:

Student in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

• Business/Data Analytics, Process Overview and Setup
• Knowledge of PowerBi, excel, databases
• Programming/coding experience

Preferred Start Date:

• February 2027

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree
• Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
• A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
• Available for a minimum of 6 months
