Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is offering a paid internship in quality engineering at our Alabama site. You will analyze production quality data, support root cause investigations, and help implement corrective actions within cross-functional teams.

Preferred start date is March 2027. The program includes visa cost coverage and a housing bonus, and requires enrollment in a university program with at least 3 semesters completed.

Qualifications

• Education: Student in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field.
• Root-cause analysis and data reporting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes and standard production systems.

Essential Functions:

• Analyze production quality data and customer feedback trends.
• Support root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Assist with implementation and verification of corrective actions.
• Participate in cross-functional quality improvement projects.
• Support quality audits and production quality gate activities.
• Develop reports and dashboards to track quality performance metrics.
• Assist with escalation and presentation of quality concerns within quality review forums.
• Support digitization and automation of quality inspection processes.
• Participate in special projects related to quality systems, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve First-Time Capability (FTC) and reduce defect escapes.

Other Regular Daily Tasks:

• Support problem resolutions
• Support escalation of quality topics to quality forums
• Support implementation of quality checks into offline quality inspections
• Support topic complex problem solving for legacy topics

Qualifikationen

Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education:

Student in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree
• Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
• A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
• Available for a minimum of 6 months
