Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a midlevel associate for its International Trade practice in Washington, DC. This role focuses on supporting and expanding the US Export Controls, Tariffs, and CFIUS practice with a culture of collaboration and client service.

Candidates must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese and have 2–3 years of relevant experience. Experience with OFAC sanctions and trade remedy investigations is preferred.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Candidates must possess fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese.
• Candidates should have at least two to three years of experience in one or both of the following subject matter areas: export controls administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security and Directorate of Defense Trade Controls; customs law, including entry, classification and valuation, and other matters within the jurisdiction of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
• Additional subject matter experience with economic sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control and/or trade remedy investigations under U.S. antidumping and countervailing duty and safeguard laws is preferred.

Compensation range: $235,000 to $365,000 annually. Compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
