Sora Resource Group, a leading international law firm client, seeks an International Trade Associate Attorney in Washington, DC to join its renowned International Trade Practice Group. The attorney will work on complex trade remedies, sanctions, export controls, and regulatory compliance for domestic and international clients.

The ideal candidate has a JD from a top-tier law school, DC bar admission, and 2–4 years of trade experience, with strong research, writing, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC, in good standing.
• 2–4 years of substantive international trade experience.
• Experience counseling clients on U.S. international trade regulatory issues.
• Experience with trade remedy matters, including antidumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD).
• Experience litigating before U.S. trade agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Experience advising clients on economic sanctions administered by OFAC.
• Experience with EAR and BIS export control matters.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Large law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on international trade and regulatory compliance matters.
• Counsel clients regarding U.S. trade remedy laws, including AD/CVD proceedings.
• Represent clients before government agencies and in litigation before the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Provide strategic advice regarding U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, and cross-border regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regulatory analyses and assist clients in developing compliance programs."

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a sophisticated team advising clients on complex international trade and regulatory matters, including trade remedies, sanctions, export controls, customs-related issues, and regulatory compliance. The practice represents domestic and international clients navigating evolving global trade regulations and enforcement environments.

Candidate Profile

• Experience counseling clients on a broad range of U.S. international trade regulatory issues
• Experience with trade remedy matters, including antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) proceedings

• Experience advising clients on economic sanctions administered by Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
• Experience with Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and export control matters administered by Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
