The American Jewish Committee (AJC) seeks an Assistant Director, Policy & Programs for its Central Europe Institute (CEI). The role focuses on advancing advocacy, programming, and communications across seven countries in Central Europe.

You will work with the Director to develop briefs, organize events, and engage key partners, diplomats, and NGOs to advance AJC’s mission in a dynamic, international setting.

Qualificações

• Minimum of 7 years of related work experience in Government Institutes, Think Tanks, Diplomacy, NGOs or related.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Native in Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Latvian or Estonian.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor activity in 7 countries on issues relevant to AJC’s advocacy – Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia.
• Develop knowledge of AJC’s advocacy positions and suggest relevant programs and speakers.
• Support the Director in presenting positions to government officials and civil society stakeholders.
• Stay informed on Middle East and Israel-related events; report to Director and staff.
• Identify and cultivate key partners and stakeholders; accompany Director to meetings.
• Produce drafts of position papers, briefing documents, talking points, and communications materials.
• Organize conferences, panel discussions, and background briefings; create write-ups for the website.
• Draft press releases as requested; enhance CEI webpage on AJC’s site.
