Job summary

AJC is seeking an Associate Director to support Education Policy and Government Advocacy within the Center for Education Advocacy (CEA). You will contribute to national K-12 strategy, research-based policy, and resources for regional offices.

You will monitor policy developments, prepare briefings and testimony support, coordinate with internal partners, and help translate priorities into practical guidance while upholding AJC's values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education, public policy, law, Jewish studies, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in education policy, government advocacy, public policy, Jewish advocacy, education systems, research, communications, or related work.
• Experience conducting research, drafting policy materials, supporting government advocacy efforts, and working across teams strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor education policy developments, government activity, and relevant public debates affecting Jewish students, school climate, antisemitism, Israel-related discourse, and inclusive educational environments.
• Track legislative, executive, and administrative developments at local, state, and federal levels and identify implications for AJC's education advocacy.
• Prepare briefings, backgrounders, summaries, public comments, testimony support, and decision materials for leadership and regional offices.
• Support the Director, Education Policy in preparing for engagement with government officials and education-sector leaders.
• Develop policy guidance, talking points, issue briefs, advocacy materials, and school-climate resources for regional offices.
