Job summary

The Center for Education Advocacy (CEA) at American Jewish Committee (AJC) seeks an Associate Director to support education policy and government advocacy. You will conduct policy research, monitor federal and state actions, and develop briefs, backgrounders, and resources for regional offices and leadership.

You will also help translate national priorities into practical guidance for regional engagement, coordinate cross-departmental efforts, and ensure materials align with AJC positions while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in education policy, government advocacy, or related fields.
• Experience researching, drafting policy materials, and supporting government advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor education policy developments and government activity affecting Jewish students and school climate.
• Track local, state, and federal legislative, executive, and administrative developments and their implications for advocacy.
• Conduct research and analysis to support education policy, government advocacy, and national K-12 strategy priorities.
• Prepare briefings, summaries, backgrounders, public comments, and testimony support for leadership and regional offices.
• Coordinate engagement with government officials and education-sector leaders; track follow-ups and deliverables.
