Job Description

The International Logistics Coordinator supports domestic and international freight movements across air, ocean, and ground transportation modes for import and export shipments. They are a key point of coordination between customers, carriers, customs brokers, overseas partners, and internal teams to ensure freight moves efficiently and compliantly from origin through final delivery. They assist with shipment execution, documentation processing, customs coordination, shipment tracking, and system updates while maintaining accurate records and providing exceptional customer service. They help ensure transportation milestones are achieved and potential issues are identified and escalated promptly. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic and international import and export freight shipments across air, ocean, and ground transportation modes.
  • Support the shipment lifecycle from freight initiation through customs clearance and final delivery.
  • Create and maintain shipment records in CargoWise and other transportation management systems, including data entry, milestone tracking, documentation management, and file maintenance.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries and coordinate transportation activities with carriers, warehouses, customs brokers, overseas agents, and internal teams.
  • Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation including air waybills, bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and related import/export documents.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively track transportation milestones to help ensure timely pickup, transit, customs clearance, and delivery.
  • Communicate shipment updates, transportation status, and service-related information to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with customs clearance activities by coordinating documentation and working with customs brokers and government agencies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, internal operational procedures, and applicable transportation and trade regulations.
  • Identify shipment exceptions, delays, and documentation discrepancies and elevate issues appropriately while supporting resolution efforts.
  • Assist with freight quotations, transportation options, and carrier coordination to support customer requirements.
  • Enter shipment costs, support billing activities, and maintain accurate operational and financial records.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely shipment documentation and records.
  • Provide professional customer service while building positive relationships with customers, carriers, and business partners.
  • All other duties as assigned to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate degree or additional coursework in logistics, supply chain, transportation, international business, or a related field preferred.
  • Language: Bilingual fluency, both written and spoken, in English and Spanish required; working proficiency in Portuguese preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, freight forwarding, customer service, import/export operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Exposure to domestic and international freight transportation operations, including air, ocean, ground, import, and/or export shipments preferred.
  • Experience using CargoWise One (CW1), transportation management systems, ERP systems, or similar logistics software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of international shipping documentation, transportation operations, customer service principles, and import/export processes preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality in handling and protecting sensitive information.
  • Technical: Proficient with common office technologies, including Windows PCs, Microsoft O365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and web conferencing (Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.)
  • Environment: Comfort commuting to/from and working in a 100% on-site setting (listed in this posting).
