Job summary

Indiana University is seeking an advanced finance professional for the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs in Bloomington. You will manage foreign supplier and travel expense reporting, administer fees and scholarships, and help plan budgets while mitigating currency and tax risks for global programs.

You will lead a team, coordinate with IU Foundation, and support executives on compliance, contracts, and HR activities influencing financial management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
• Preferred: Master's degree.
• 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, approves, and manages a high-volume foreign supplier/foreign currency PO and international travel/credit card expenditure reports.
• Formulates and manages practices with IU Bursar and Financial Aid to process and track fees and scholarships related to international mobility.
• Plans budgets and establishes practices to mitigate risks of international higher education activities, including currency fluctuation, overseas hiring, and tax compliance.
• Interfaces between non-financial staff of affiliated foreign entities and tax/accounting professionals; provides training on financial management.
• Oversees study abroad budget management; coordinates with on-site staff and consortia; manages audits and tax reporting for entities.
• Leads the finance-related component of the unit's scholarship team with over $1M annually, liaising with the IU Foundation.
• Manages daily and long-term financial/administrative operations of a unit or department.
• Formulates policies and guidelines for division activities.
• Controls expenditures and statements to ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal integrity.
• Manages budgets and reports deviations from approved plans.
• Prepares operating and project budgets and explains financial concepts to non-financial staff.
• May provide training to lower-level staff.
