Job Description
Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of International Admissions & GlobalEnrollment Resources, the International Admission Program Manageris responsible for overseeing the daily operations of theinternational admissions office at the University of Missouri-St.Louis (UMSL). This role works collaboratively with the Director ofInternational Admissions & Global Enrollment Resources andAssociate Directors for International Recruitment to enhance theefficiency and effectiveness of international admissions processes.Must have US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency as per USImmigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) guidelines forDSOs.

Key Responsibilities
  • International Admissions Operations
  • Implements and maintains international admissions procedures tosupport the efficient, accurate, and consistent processing ofundergraduate and graduate applications.
  • Exercises independent judgment when reviewing applications,resolving applicant concerns, and interpreting admissions policiesand procedures.
  • Reviews applications and supporting documentation to determineadmissibility in accordance with institutional policies andestablished practices.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of admission decisionsand applicant communications.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with students,faculty, advisors, administrators, and recruitment partners.
  • Identifies operational challenges and recommends processimprovements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Maintains accurate student records and admissions data withinuniversity systems.
  • International Credential Evaluation & Transfer Credit
  • Evaluates international academic credentials and transfercoursework to support admissions decisions, academic placement, anddegree progression.
  • Determines U.S. educational equivalencies, transferable credit,grade conversions, and cumulative GPA calculations forinternational transcripts.
  • Facilitates international transfer credit evaluations inaccordance with university policies and articulationagreements.
  • Maintains expertise in international educational systems,transfer credit practices, and credential evaluationmethodologies.
  • Interprets and communicates evaluation results, transfer creditpolicies, and academic requirements to students, faculty, andstaff.
  • Compliance, Documentation & Student Records
  • Administers processes that support compliance withinstitutional policies and applicable regulatory requirementsrelated to international admissions and student records.
  • Reviews documentation to ensure adherence to admissionspolicies, credential verification standards, and establishedprocedures.
  • Identifies and escalates cases involving suspected fraud,policy exceptions, or other compliance concerns.
  • Collaborates with Global Students & Experiences staff tosupport documentation review and processes related to I-20 andDS-2019 issuance.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation to supportreporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures the confidentiality and appropriate handling ofapplicant and student information.
  • Scholarships & Student Support
  • Determines scholarship eligibility and award amounts inaccordance with institutional guidelines.
  • Reviews scholarship awards and notifications for accuracy.
  • Serves as a liaison with Student Financial Services and othercampus partners to assist students in resolving funding-relatedconcerns.
  • Provides information regarding admissions requirements,scholarships, transfer credit, and enrollment procedures.
  • Operational Support & Special Projects
  • Coordinates the work of student assistants engaged in documentprocessing, record maintenance, data entry, and related operationalactivities.
  • Develops and maintains procedural documentation and trainingresources.
  • Participates in special projects and initiatives that supportthe admission, enrollment, retention, and engagement ofinternational students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of departmentaland university goals.

Shift

40 hours/week. Monday thru Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education andexperience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparableknowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customerservice with the ability to work effectively both independently andas a collaborative member of a team.
  • Two or more years of experience in international admissions,international recruitment, or a closely related field.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience handlingconfidential information and maintaining a high standard of dataaccuracy and integrity.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects from initiationthrough completion while maintaining effective communication withadmissions leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the higher education admissions landscape,particularly international admissions, and an interest in emergingtrends and issues affecting the field.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evenings, weekends, andextended hours during peak recruitment and admissions cycles.
  • Experience using higher education CRM and student informationsystems, with preference given to candidates familiar withPeopleSoft, Slate, Enroll ML, or similar enterprise platforms.

Anticipated Hiring Range

$53,976-$69,576
