Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth in Chicago, IL seeks a Temporary Internal Registry RN for the Night Shift in Emergency Services. The assignment runs for 12 weeks with a .9 full-time schedule, and a compensation rate of $60.00 per hour.

The RN will provide direct patient care in Telemetry and emergency care, guiding patient teaching and contributing to rapid clinical decisions. Required certifications include RN license, BLS, ALS, PALS/ENPC within specified timelines, with CEN and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ALS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• CEN preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within Telemetry.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patient condition and results of diagnostic studies and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Ensure EMTALA compliance and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Temporary Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Chicago, IL Department: Emergency ServicesStatus: Temporary Internal Registry (Full-Time, .9)Shift: Night Shift Compensation: $60.00 per hour (Flat Rate)

Assignment Details:

The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks; however, staffing needs will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. They communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient's clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current. 5. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current 2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education 3. Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.4. Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain. Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred.

Pay Transparency

Saint Mary of Nazareth offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $60.00 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
