Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Katy, TX is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. The role includes CRI setup, medical math calculations, and anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.

You will also prepare for ultrasound, radiology, and endoscopy procedures, and assist with these as needed. The position emphasizes client education when discharging IM patients and ongoing contributions to a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Set up CRI and perform medical calculations as part of routine care.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia for procedures.
• Assist with ultrasound, radiology and endoscopy setups.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
