Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to join our clinical team. This role supports anesthesia and internal medicine procedures, including CRI setup, ultrasound, radiology, and endoscopy, while ensuring accurate medical calculations and patient care. Applicants should have prior veterinary experience and strong communication skills.

The schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with comprehensive health benefits, retirement plans, and pet-friendly perks

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced calculations.

• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education.

We are looking for:

Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant

Schedule:

Wednesday - Saturday 8a-6p

What you’ll do:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education

Who you are:

• Prior veterinary experience required, previous internal medicine or anesthesia experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $20.75 to $31.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.

We support our caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

• Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour
• Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour
• Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
