Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to support our internists with anesthesia, imaging, and client communication. You will work closely with clinicians to ensure high standards of patient care and client education in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a Wednesday–Saturday 8a–6p schedule, with base pay plus shift differentials and comprehensive benefits to help caregivers balance work and life. If you are passionate about animal health and teamwork, apply today.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience is required and internal medicine or anesthesia experience is preferred.
• Proficient in calculations involving drugs, CRIs, and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education

We are looking for:

Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant

Schedule:

Wednesday - Saturday 8a-6p

The Internal Medicine team is constantly working with our internists to provide information to our clients regarding patient care, updates and treatments. This is one department that focuses on relationship building as patient care is longer in duration. If you want to combine your love of animals and clients, this is the department for you!

What you’ll do:

Who you are:

• Prior veterinary experience required, previous internal medicine or anesthesia experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $20.75 to $31.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.

We support our caregivers with lucrative shift differentials: Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
