Job summary

MedVet seeks an Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant - Part Time in Cincinnati. The role supports internists, manages medical records, assists with ultrasound, radiology, and endoscopic procedures, and helps with patient discharges and client education.

Candidates should have prior veterinary experience, be capable with calculations (drugs, infusion rates, unit conversions), and be flexible with hours. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required, internal medicine experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and transfer calls.
• Manage medical records, charts, reports and correspondences.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Manage appointments, obtain histories and update patient information.
• Accurate and thorough documentation of medical records.
• Patient discharge and client education.

We are looking for:

Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant - Part Time

Schedule: Monday and Friday from 8a-6p or 7a-5p (work days are subject to change with advance notice for departmental needs)

The Internal Medicine team is constantly working with our internists to provide information to our clientsregardingpatient care,updatesand treatments. This is one department thatfocuses on relationship building as patient care is longer in duration.If you want to combine your love of animals and clients, this is the department for you!

Whatyou’lldo:
