Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Sarasota, FL is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician for our fast-paced Internal Medicine department. You will liaise with internists and clients, review patient histories, lab results, care instructions, and updates, while assisting with imaging, endoscopy, and sample collection.

The ideal candidate brings strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills and the ability to perform x-rays, monitor patients, and support treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Ability to liaise with internists and clients regarding patient histories and updates.
• Experience with imaging, sample collection, and in-hospital procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates medical math including mcg/mg and %/mg.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures and maintain equipment.
• Discharge IM patients with basic client education.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
