Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Katy, TX is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician for the Internal Medicine department. The role involves coordinating between interns, clinicians, and clients, with responsibilities including anesthesia, phlebotomy, endoscopy, ultrasound, x-rays, and sample collection.

Schedule: 4 days per week with rotating Mondays and Fridays. You will assist with patient histories, care instructions, and lab results, while maintaining compassionate client communication

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate all medical math including CRI metrics.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Prepare for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and maintain equipment.
• Discharge IM patients and provide client education on insulin injections, SQ fluids, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Collaborate with doctors and support clients via phone, email, and in person.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Katy, TX is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department.

Schedule: 4 days a week rotating Mondays and Fridays

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will...

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
