Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Cary, NC is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. You will be a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors.

Additionally, you will assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take x rays, and obtain lab samples.

Qualifications

• As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you liaise between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, updates, and other topics.
• Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take x rays, and obtain lab samples.
• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

Responsibilities

• Set up CRI infusions for patients.
• Calculates medical math including CRI calculations (mcg/mg, %/mg).
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Discharge IM patients with basic client education (insulin, SQ fluids, feeding tube demonstrations).
• Additional job duties as assigned.
