Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department. You will serve as a liaison between internists and clients, handling patient histories, lab results, and care updates while assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, injections, x-rays, and lab sample collection.

You will set up CRIs, perform anesthesia induction and monitoring, and assist with ultrasound/radiology and endoscopic procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Experience assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures.
• Ability to take x-rays and obtain lab samples.
• Excellent client communication across phone, email, and in person.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital with basic client education.
