PetVet Care Centers' VRCC Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital in Englewood, Colorado is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with daily tasks, equipment cleaning, patient care, and clerical duties in a busy specialty and emergency setting.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have Veterinary Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, weigh and take vital signs on arrival.
• Triage, perform exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by LVTs.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications or restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment (EKG, pumps, monitors, scales).
• Fill prescriptions, calculate medications, and document controlled drugs.
• Record appetites and report unusual conditions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and hospital cleanliness.
• Promote hospital products and services; support the organization.
• Respond promptly to directions from DVM/LVT and follow safety rules.
• May take on duties in specialty areas (dentistry, surgery, emergency, radiology, etc.).
