PetVet Care Centers’ VRCC Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital in Englewood, CO seeks a Surgery Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with duties from patient handling to surgical suite prep. Qualifications

• Experience in a veterinary environment and duties of the position.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; 18+ years old.
• Equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, record weight and vital signs on arrival.
• Triage, exam, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints.
• Perform lab tests and radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and documentation of drugs.
• Feed and groom patients; ensure clean, safe facilities.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with clients.
