Job summary

Avera Brookings Clinic is seeking a physician to provide and manage direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and patient care within a defined practice area.

You will assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families, perform necessary procedures, interpret diagnostic data, and develop care plans in collaboration with the care team.

Commitment to safety, compliance with policies, and maintaining records are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice medicine in the state where services are provided.
• Board-certified or board-eligible for medical practice.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members.
• Contributes to health education of individuals and groups and fosters responsibility for personal health care.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Interprets diagnostic information and formulates a plan of care.
• Provides quality patient care with proper health, safety, and aseptic practices.
• Recognizes and responds to environmental safety factors in patient care.
• Delivers patient instruction on environment of care and safety standards.
• Understands and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.
• Collaborates with care team and staff for quality patient care.
• Ensures appropriate referrals are made and maintains patient records.
