Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a Limited Term Clinical Instructor to support the Internal Medicine Residency Program as a PGY4 Chief Resident. The role combines education, patient care, and administration in a one-year non-tenure track appointment.

The incumbent will assist the Program Director, develop curriculum, and mentor residents and medical students while overseeing didactic conferences and clinical supervision in the Athens clinic.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree is required because of the role as a Chief Resident and patient care in the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
• Certified or eligible for ABIM Board Certification in Internal Medicine or subspecialties.
• Possess or be able to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and teach at didactic conferences for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
• Provide patient care for patients in the residency clinic, Community Internal Medicine of Athens.
• Provide supervision, teaching, and mentorship for residents and medical students.
• Serve as a role model for residents and medical students.
• Attend program committee meetings after normal business hours.
