Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join our fast-growing emergency and specialty team. You will work closely with our internists to deliver advanced patient care and client education, while contributing to a collaborative, compassionate environment.

The role emphasizes precise drug calculations, anesthesia support, and procedures such as ultrasound, radiology, endoscopy, and patient discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Must be a State Registered Veterinary Technician or license preferred.
• Experience in internal medicine or anesthesia desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education
