Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join our fast-growing emergency and specialty practice. You will work with seasoned internists to provide expert patient care and client communication in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities include anesthesia induction/monitoring, CRI setup, ultrasound and radiology support, endoscopy assistance, and thorough client education at discharge.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; internal medicine or anesthesia experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRI, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education.
