Job summary

Oregon Nurses Association (ONA) seeks an Internal Labor Representative to grow and sustain bargaining units across Oregon. The role focuses on developing leaders, training stewards, and advancing campaigns that empower healthcare workers and their patients and communities.

The incumbent will facilitate negotiations, manage grievances, and support membership growth while collaborating with department staff. Hybrid work options available with travel across the state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; 3+ years organizing or related role.
• Knowledge of NLRA, PECBA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA required.
• Healthcare organizing experience encouraged.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop leadership networks among bargaining units.
• Train leaders to run campaigns and act as stewards.
• Support and participate in worksite committees.
• Develop strategic bargaining unit plans and update them.
• Promote union membership and organize new employees.
• Oversee grievance handling and contract actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of initiatives.
