Job summary

Garney Construction seeks an Internal Communications Manager to lead the company’s internal communications strategy and messaging across channels, partnering with leadership to reinforce alignment with priorities and Garney’s culture of employee ownership.

The role oversees multi-channel communication, mentors the team, and collaborates with marketing to ensure consistent branding and timely updates across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in communications, internal communications, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills.
• Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans.
• Knowledge of internal communications, employee engagement, and organizational change best practices.
• Experience managing internal communications programs, company intranets, and communication channels.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with executive leadership and employees across the organization.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience leading, managing, and developing team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and internal communications platforms.
• Experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
• Experience using analytics and employee feedback to measure communication effectiveness and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute internal communications strategies that support Garney’s priorities and employee engagement.
• Oversee internal channels like GarneyOne to ensure timely, relevant information.
• Create communication plans for initiatives and leadership announcements.
• Partner with leaders to provide messaging guidance and strategic counsel.
• Lead executive communications to enhance leadership visibility and transparency.
• Reinforce Garney’s culture and employee ownership through communications.
• Collaborate with marketing and external teams for consistent messaging.
• Measure effectiveness using analytics and feedback to drive improvements.
• Manage and mentor internal communications team members.
