Since then, our history of innovation and go-to-market acceleration has driven industry-leading growth. In fact, we're the largest and fastest-growing automotive marketplace, and we've been profitable for over 15 years.

What we do

The market is evolving, and we are too, moving the entire automotive journey online and guiding our customers through every step. That includes everything from the sale of an old car to the financing, purchase, and delivery of a new one. We have a people-first culture that fosters kindness, collaboration, and innovation, and empowers our Gurus with tools to fuel their career growth. Disrupting a trillion-dollar industry requires fresh and diverse perspectives. Come join us for the ride!

Role overview

At CarGurus, our people and culture are a big part of what makes us who we are. As the Internal Communications & Employer Brand Intern, you'll help bring that story to life – sharing what it's like to be a Guru with the people who work here and the candidates who may join us. You'll work alongside our Internal Communications and Employer Brand teams to create content, support communications, and learn how thoughtful storytelling can strengthen connection, engagement, and our candidate experience.

As an Internal Communications & Employer Brand Intern, you will join an 11-week Summer Internship Program designed to give you hands-on experience, expand your professional network, and build core industry skills. This full-time opportunity (40 hours per week) runs from June through August 2027. CarGurus operates on a hybrid working model, and candidates should expect to work out of our Boston, MA office 60% of the time (approximately three days per week).

What you'll do
  • Support the planning and maintenance of social media and internal communications editorial calendars.
  • Research, draft, edit, and publish engaging content for channels such as LinkedIn, Instagram, careers sites, and internal communication platforms
  • Help tell stories about our culture, Gurus, workplace, and innovative work across the candidate and employee journeys
  • Support employee advocacy by helping collect stories, coordinate approvals, and amplify employee activity and accomplishments.
  • Monitor and respond to appropriate employee and candidate comments, questions, and reviews, escalating issues to the right stakeholders when needed.
  • Support employee and workplace award submissions, announcements, and related communications.
  • Assist with communications around company-wide initiatives, including Town Halls and other employee programs.
  • Track content, platform, and email performance; organize results and help identify insights and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support content management and data organization to keep communications resources accurate, accessible, and up to date.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Talent Acquisition, People & Talent, and External Communications—to deliver communications aligned with company goals.
What you'll bring
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field, with eligibility to complete a full-time internship.
  • Exceptionally strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Interest in employer branding, internal communications, social media, recruiting, or employee engagement.
  • Ability to create clear and compelling content for different audiences and channels.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage details and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical curiosity and an interest in using data to improve communications.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and enthusiasm for learning in a fast-paced environment.
