Job summary

Florida Department of Financial Services is seeking a Government Analyst II in Tallahassee. The role focuses on auditing and assurance engagements, applying GAAS, GAGAS, and related professional standards to assess internal controls and operations in state programs.

Responsibilities include planning and conducting audits, preparing reports, and presenting findings. A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and professional certification such as CIA, CISA, or CPA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAS, GAO GAGAS, IIAs standards, ISACA guidelines, and IG standards.
• Knowledge of information technology and operational auditing best practices.
• Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to improve internal controls.
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist, coordinate, or conduct assurance and advisory engagements to promote accountability and efficiency.
• Plan and conduct financial, compliance, and IT audits, and prepare risk-based audit programs.
• Prepare and maintain thorough documentation and draft final reports.
• Present audit results orally to stakeholders and management.
• Engage in audits and investigations of DFS employees as required.
