Job summary

Davidson Hospitality Group is seeking an Internal Auditor to conduct audits of properties using the approved program, document findings, and communicate to all parties as directed. You may be deployed to investigate major control breaches.

This remote role requires travel 75%–100% and typically three weeks per month, with Monday–Friday audits. The ideal candidate has 5 years' related hospitality experience, a four-year accounting degree, strong knowledge of GAAP/USALI, and proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• Degree from a four-year college preferred, preferably with a concentration in accounting.
• Five years of related experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of audit processes, understanding of hotel operating and support departments, documenting findings, accounts payable, payroll, double-entry accounting, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, familiarity with operating and accounting systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact confidently with property staff.
• Experience providing training to team members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of GAAP and USALI.

Internal Auditor

The Internal Auditor will conduct audits of properties managed by Davidson, utilizing the authorized audit program then in effect, document findings, and communicate to all parties as directed. In addition, the auditor may be deployed to investigate significant breaches in the control process. This position is remote, however you are required to travel 75% - 100% of the time. The team member must be prepared to travel a minimum of three weeks per month, with audits typically occurring Monday-Friday, with travel arranged so that it allows sufficient time to complete the engagement. This is a high-volume travel role.

Qualifications

• Degree from a four-year college preferred, preferably with a concentration in accounting.
• Five years of related experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of audit processes, understanding of hotel operating and support departments, documenting findings, accounts payable, payroll, double-entry accounting (debits and credits), accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, familiarity with operating and accounting systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact confidently and comfortably with property staff.
• Experience providing training to team members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
