Job summary

The University of Massachusetts Office of the President seeks a Fall 2026 Intern for the Internal Audit division. This part-time internship is open to current UMass undergraduates or graduates, offering hands-on experience in evaluating operations, compliance, and internal controls.

The internship is hybrid with a pay rate of $17 per hour and potential academic credit. Responsibilities include administrative support, audit research, organizing workpapers, and collaboration with IA and campus

Qualifications

• Current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
• GPA 3.0 or higher
• Interest in higher education, internal audit, operations, compliance and IT
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with new technology
• Ability to travel to all five UMass campuses

Responsibilities

• Provide general administrative support
• Assist in audit research and tests of internal controls and compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures
• Interact with administrators, faculty, and staff
• Organize workpapers
• Follow-up on management’s action plans
• Think critically and exercise professional skepticism, judgment, and discretion
• Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned
