University of Massachusetts invites current students to join the Fall 2026 Intern position in University Internal Audit. This part-time, hybrid internship offers hands-on experience evaluating operations, compliance, and internal controls across campuses.

Under supervision of IA staff, you will conduct audits, research controls, and collaborate with colleagues in the President's Office and campuses. The role may provide academic credit in addition to a paid stipend.

Fall 2026 Intern - Internal Audit

Primary Work Location:

• Hybrid work environment.
• Primarily located at 50 Washington Street, Westborough offices, with regular remote work.
• Occasional travel to campuses.

Normal Work Schedule:

20 hours per week during the semester with schedule flexibility.

Job Summary:

The University of Massachusetts Office of the President seeks UMass students for an Intern for Fall 2026 in the division of University Internal Audit (IA). The internship is ideal for a current UMass undergraduate or graduate student who is eager to learn, inspired to think analytically, excited by public service, and motivated to communicate complicated ideas clearly.

The selected intern will gain valuable insights into Internal Audit's role at the University and the operations of and systems used by various departments across the University. The internship will be project-based and require frequent collaboration with colleagues within IA, the broader President's Office, and campuses. Under the guidance of Internal Audit Management and Senior Auditors, the Intern will support Internal Audit's goals by taking part in evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the University's operations, compliance with policy and regulations, and systems of internal control.

This internship is part-time for Fall 2026, with a pay rate of $17 per hour. In addition to being a paid internship, academic credit may also be available.

Essential Functions:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):

• Current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study, e.g., accounting, business administration or IT

• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with new technology
