Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking an Internal Agency MRI Technologist to respond to system-wide imaging coverage needs. You will perform MRI scans, ensure image quality, and uphold patient safety as a top priority.

Responsibilities include patient screening, procedure explanation, and contrast administration, with opportunities to train radiology students and support MRI safety practices across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology or ARRT MR pathway with MR certification.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Radiology; ARRT MR certification.
• Active ARRT MR certification is required for MR technologists.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures across system locations ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain history to ensure exam success.
• Administer contrast media intravenously and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
• Support training of radiology students through demonstrations and guidance.

Job Summary

The Internal Agency MRI Technologist responds to department critical coverage needs throughout the system for all MRI locations in the system. Competency requires versatility to cover any need throughout system Radiology MRI departments. Performs MRI procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, maintaining high quality imaging and patient welfare as a top priority. Supports didactic training of radiology students through demonstration and constructive guidance. Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practices all safety guidelines. Interview/screen patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and documents such accurately. Explain MRI procedures to patient/family for ultimate success of exam. Administer appropriate contrast media intravenously and accurately evaluate images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam.

Education

• Required: Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology OR Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (primary pathway) with ARRT-MR certification
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Certification in ARRT MR

Experience

• Preferred: 2 years experience as a Registered Technologist in MRI
