CoxHealth Internal Agency MRI Technologist role supports critical coverage across system MRI locations. You operate MRI scanners, ensure safety, and provide high-quality imaging while prioritizing patient welfare.

You will interview patients, explain procedures, administer IV contrast when needed, and evaluate images for diagnostic quality in compliance with MRI safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology or ARRT MR with MR certification.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Radiology.
• 2+ years experience as a Registered Technologist in MR.
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
• Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanner(s) across system MRI locations following safety guidelines.
• administer IV contrast as appropriate and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
• Explain MRI procedures to patients to ensure successful exams.
• Interview and screen patients for exam appropriateness and document history accurately.

Competency requires versatility to cover any need throughout system Radiology MRI departments. Performs MRI procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, maintaining high quality imaging and patient welfare as a top priority. Supports didactic training of radiology students through demonstration and constructive guidance. Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practices all safety guidelines. Interview/screen patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and documents such accurately. Explain MRI procedures to patient/family for ultimate success of exam. Administer appropriate contrast media intravenously and accurately evaluate images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam.Education: Required: Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology OR Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (primary pathway) with ARRT-MR certification Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Certification in ARRT MRExperience: Preferred: 2 years experience as a Registered Technologist in MRISkills: Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
