Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an entry-level engineer to join our transmission line team in Virginia. You will design and analyze high-voltage transmission facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation.

Key responsibilities include detailed design work, field support for construction activities, and coordination with Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Permitting, Real Estate, and Right of Way Administration.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited bachelor’s program majoring in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Graduation date Fall 2028 or 2029.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed design for high voltage transmission line projects including new lines, rebuilds, and modifications.
• Provide field support for construction activities related to transmission line projects; site visits and meetings.
• Interface with Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Permitting, Real Estate, Right of Way Administration, and Transmission O&M.

Job Summary

Develop, design, analyze and evaluate transmission facility additions/modifications by applying engineering theories, principles, and practices that contribute to safe, reliable, and cost-effective transmission line designs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide detailed design for high voltage transmission line projects. This will include, but not limited to, building new lines, re-building and modifying existing facilities, fiber installations, and customer relocations.
• Provide field support for construction activities related to transmission line projects.This will include, but not limited to, construction site visits and project meetings.
• Interface with other departments or groups such as Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Permitting, Real Estate, Right of Way Administration, and Transmission O&M.

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences required for entry into this job include the following:

• Self-motivator who has the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, but is comfortable independently seeking knowledge and information
• Strong time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus

Education Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program that is ABET accredited majoring in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Must have a graduation date of Fall 2028 or 2029.

Hourly Rate:
