Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an engineering intern to support the design, development, and implementation of high voltage underground transmission lines (69kV–500kV). The role offers exposure to transmission components, project workflows, and hands-on learning through software training and site visits.

You will work primarily in an office setting with a hybrid 3-2 schedule, and you must be pursuing a ABET-accredited engineering degree with a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year bachelor’s degree in an engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Rising Junior or Senior with graduation date Fall 2028 or later.
• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.

Job Summary

The department's primary responsibility is the design, development, and implementation of high voltage (69kV – 500kV) underground transmission lines. Interns will learn how transmission lines impact the grid, underground transmission components, design and construction techniques, transmission project workflow, and project managment. Opportunities will be available for software training, construction site visits, and networking. This position will be primarily in an office setting.

Education Requirements

The Following Criteria Must Be Met

• Must be pursuing a 4-year bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (Preferred fields include: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering) from an ABET accredited Engineering program.
• Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a graduation date of Fall 2028 or later.
• Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
