Job summary

Hamilton County, Ohio in Cincinnati seeks an Intern to Commissioner – Driehaus to assist the commissioner's staff on projects and community engagement activities.

You may help draft materials in line with the county mission, handle routine correspondence, answer calls, and organize documents for distribution. The role also includes event support and agenda prep, plus assisting with newsletters.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a relevant degree in public administration, political science, communications, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of public sector budgeting and finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license and vehicle available for duties.

Responsibilities

• Work with commissioner’s staff and other assigned staff to support various projects.
• Assist with engagement of community members and stakeholders; may draft material in line with the county mission for public disbursement.
• Perform administrative duties; compose routine correspondence; receive and forward incoming telephone calls; reproduce, file, and distribute documents.
• Assist with event support and agenda preparation.
• Support digital communication efforts such as newsletters.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, or a related field applicable to governmental agency duties.
• Basic knowledge of public sector budgeting and finance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency and valid motor vehicle insurance.
• Vehicle available for use in performing various responsibilities.
