Job summary

Orgill, Inc. seeks rising college juniors or seniors for a Technology Intern role. You will work with leaders and experienced tech professionals at the nation’s largest independent hardlines distribution company, gaining hands‑on experience this summer.

The program includes professional development, cross‑training, lunch and learns with leaders, and team activities. Opportunities span software, cybersecurity, infrastructure, BI, and data analytics, based on business needs and interests.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student, rising junior or senior, enrolled full‑time.
• Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0.
• Pursuing CS, IT, Cybersecurity, Software Eng, Data Analytics, MIS, or related field.
• Desire to gain hands‑on experience and build a professional network.
• Ability to work onsite at Collierville Home Office for the duration.

Responsibilities

• Support technology projects within an assigned functional area.
• Assist with development, testing, implementation, or improvement of technology solutions.
• Gather, organize, and analyze data to support technology and business decisions.
• Assist with troubleshooting, research, documentation, and process improvements.
• Support software, systems, applications, or infrastructure projects as assigned.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, research, monitoring, or documentation as applicable to the assigned team.
• Collaborate with technology professionals and business partners across the organization.
• Participate in meetings, project planning, and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Create or maintain technical documentation, reports, and other project materials.
• Research emerging technologies and industry practices as they relate to assigned projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve technology processes, systems, or user experiences.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, lunch and learns, and intern activities.
• Complete a meaningful project or assignment that contributes to the goals of the Technology team.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
• Follow applicable company policies, procedures, and security standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a summer intern at Orgill, you will have the opportunity to work with emerging leaders and experienced technology professionals at the nation’s largest and fastest-growing independent hardlines distribution company.

Our robust internship program is looking for talented, innovative students ready to develop their technical skills, challenge their subject knowledge, and build toward a distinct path to a future career. Interns will have the unique opportunity to build their knowledge base while contributing to a meaningful project with experienced professionals on the team. Throughout the summer, you will also participate in hands‑on work that contributes to Orgill’s mission and goals. Our comprehensive program includes professional development, cross‑training opportunities, lunch and learns with Orgill’s talented leaders, and team‑building activities with the 2027 internship cohort.

The Technology Intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting technology initiatives and projects that help drive Orgill’s business operations. This position allows students to be a part of real‑world technology projects while working alongside experienced technology professionals and business partners.

The intern may have the opportunity to contribute to areas such as software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure operations, supply chain technology, business intelligence, data analytics, and other technology initiatives. Assignments will be based on business needs as well as the intern’s academic background, skills, and career interests.

This internship provides meaningful project‑based experience and an opportunity to develop a broad understanding of how technology supports a large, global organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as a rising Junior or Senior.
• Demonstrated academic success (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Desire to build a professional network and gain hands‑on work experience related to your field of study.
• Ability to work onsite at our Collierville Home Office for the duration of the program
