Job summary

ANDY MOHR is seeking an automotive service intern to join our Merrillville dealership. You will assist with preventive maintenance and learn to identify additional service needs to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities include oil changes, tire services, inspections, and documenting work for Service Advisors, all while maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Perform fluid services: drain and refill engine oil, replace filters, and top off fluids.
• Conduct tire maintenance: rotate tires, mount, balance, and check pressure.
• Perform multi-point inspections: check brakes, lines, hoses, belts, and underbody.
• Document work on repair orders and report needs to Service Advisors.
• Keep bays clean and compliant with dealership and OSHA safety standards.

You will perform high-quality, efficient preventative maintenance while identifying additional service needs to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform fluid services: Drain and refill engine oil, replace filters, and top off all critical automotive fluids.
• Conduct tire maintenance: Execute tire rotations, precision mounting, balancing, and pressure checks.
• Execute multi-point inspections: Inspect brake pads, lines, hoses, belts, and underbody components thoroughly.
• Document and communicate: Record all work on repair orders and report additional repair needs clearly to Service Advisors.
• Maintain shop safety: Keep work bays clean, organized, and compliant with dealership and OSHA safety standards.

• Technical skills: Proficient with basic automotive tools, fluid exchange machines, and tire equipment.
• Physical ability: Able to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Credentials: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have dependable transportation.
