Position Overview:
The SLAC Administrative Fellowship Program provides opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career as an administrative professional to contribute to SLAC’s scientific mission by supporting general business operations for the laboratory. Positions will be assigned to various organizations within SLAC including business offices within SLAC’s scientific directorates and mission support departments. The program will be organized as a cohort of approximately 1 - 4 positions. The cohort will work cross-functionally as a member of an assigned team on a variety of potential projects and tasks. The position will involve projects and tasks of varying levels of complexity based on experience and interest including administrative support, project management, event planning, and various other ad hoc administrative duties.
Your specific responsibilities include:
- Scheduling meetings on behalf of Directors and Managers
- Assisting with travel requests or expense reconciliation processing
- Planning and execution of minor projects and events
- Supporting in-person, hybrid, and virtual meetings and events
- Creating or maintaining process documentation, and/or online resources
- Perform other miscellaneous duties assigned by the supervisor.

- Note: This is an hourly, non-benefits eligible temporary non-exempt student position (work at 50% full-time equivalent or less), not to exceed 980 hours in six consecutive months. Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and currently enrolled in an educational program at the College of San Mateo.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Some college-level coursework in business administration, accounting, communication, digital media, English, management, marketing, or public and nonprofit administration
