Job summary

Volvo Group invites interns to contribute to quality and process improvements across our manufacturing network, with Mack Trucks as a leading unit. You will gain hands-on experience in quality tracking, metrics, and cross-functional collaboration.

The program offers housing support where applicable, internal mobility, and extensive training.

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a degree and remain enrolled for duration of internship.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
• Preferred degrees include Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Junior or Senior in good academic standing strongly preferred.
• Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week during term.

Responsibilities

• Quality Dept. Tracking, reporting, and metrics.
• Update and maintain the Quality Management System to ISO standards.
• Interface with plant personnel to achieve quality and production goals.
• Assist with integrating QMS into a global Operational Management System.
• Support and measure quality-in-station practices across assembly areas.
• Participate in root cause analysis of quality defects and propose solutions.
• Assist the Quality team with diverse projects as directed by supervisor.

Core Responsibilities

• Quality Dept. Tracking/Reporting/Metrics
• Updating and maintaining the Quality Management System to comply with the current ISO Standard
• Interfaces with plant personnel to accomplish quality and production goals
• Assisting with integrating the Quality Management System into a global Operational Management System
• Supports, participates, and measures quality-in-station practices throughout specified assembly areas
• Participates in root cause analysis of quality defects and employs problem-solving skills in working towards resolution
• Assisting the Quality team with a variety of projects at the discretion of the supervisor

Minimum Education And Experience

• Must be currently pursuing a degree and remain fully enrolled in program during the duration of the internship and must have completed 30 credit hours or more prior to the start of the internship
• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
• Preferred Degrees- Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Prefer a motivated Junior or Senior in good academic standing
• Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week during the term

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
