Job summary

Mack Trucks is offering an internship focused on equipment maintenance, reliability, and lean projects. You will review PMS, assist with documentation, and learn to use our CMMS systems while building spare parts ledgers and maintenance calendars.

You will develop presentations and hone intermediate Excel skills for data analysis, with exposure to AutoCAD or similar drafting tools. Housing and internal mobility opportunities may apply.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Engineering Management/Technology, with 30 undergraduate hours completed before start.
• Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week.
• Minimum GPA 2.75.

What You Will Do

The position will review equipment preventative maintenance checks for effectiveness and look for ways to improve the pms and also to improve equipment reliability. The position will review equipment documentation and help with creating and maintaining the equipment library. The position will review recommended spare parts and help determine stocking requirements and also work with our Computerized Maintenance Management System to validate parts. The student will also help analyze the criticality of spare parts for equipment and create spare parts ledgers for production equipment. The position will give the student opportunities to learn and apply lean manufacturing principles within the maintenance organization. The student will be required to develop a formal project. The position will assist with and create professional and autonomous maintenance calendars. Students will be involved in creating One-Point Lessons as required. Create Power Point presentations for communication of new project ideas and reports. The student needs to have intermediate Excel skills for Data analysis and creating graphs.IT Skills Must have experience in EXCEL, MS Word, AutoCAD or similar type of drafting program.

Who are you?

• Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Engineering degree in one of the following fields: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Engineering Management or Engineering Technology at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies before the start of the internship.
• Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week.
• Applicants must have completed 30 semester hours before the internship starts and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
