St. Louis CITY SC is seeking a Public Relations Intern to support the PR team in developing and implementing communications and media relations strategies at local, regional, and national levels.

The role offers hands-on experience with press materials, media outreach, event support, and weekly/quarterly reporting. The position requires 20–30 hours per week during regular business hours, with flexibility for non-traditional hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • Intern candidates should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an interest in working in corporate communications, public relations or sports operations/management
  • Experience in corporate communications, public relations or marketing roles with specific experience in the sports, media and/or entertainment industries is a plus
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creative approaches to internal and external marketing and communications platforms
  • Must have knowledge of the local sports, entertainment and media landscape
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented and have a strong sense of accountability

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the creation of media materials, including press releases, media alerts, fact sheets and Q&As.

JOB SUMMARY

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromising judgment and discretion to protect the confidentiality/privacy of others, and company documents and records

  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented and have a strong sense of accountability, while exercising flexibility and adaptability to change

  • Must have strong teamwork and relationship management skills; works effectively with all personalities to support a strong culture

  • Must have the ability to compose documents in AP style using correct grammar and spelling Proficient with Microsoft Office

  • The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 20 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office

  • Must be able to work a 20-30 hours per week, during regular business hours for the position and have the ability to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings, holidays, nights, and weekends, as necessary
