Job summary

WSB is offering a National Internship Program for a Municipal Intern to work with engineers on municipal infrastructure projects in Saint Cloud, MN. You will assist with design, analyses, and documentation while gaining hands-on experience through collaboration and site visits.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and not require visa sponsorship; U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related program from an accredited university.
• Interest in municipal engineering, transportation, utilities, land development, or public infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other engineering design software is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the design and preparation of plans for municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, drainage, and public improvements.
• Supporting engineers with design calculations, cost estimates, and technical analyses.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports, specifications, permit applications, and other project documentation.
• Reviewing engineering drawings, plans, and technical documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Participating in project meetings, site visits, and field observations.
• Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions for municipal clients.
• Supporting project coordination, data collection, and research activities.
• Learning industry standards, engineering practices, and municipal design processes while contributing to active projects.

What You Will Do:
The Municipal Intern will support the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects while gaining hands on experience working alongside engineers and project teams. This role provides exposure to a variety of public infrastructure projects and the opportunity to develop technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment. Your responsibilities may include:

What You Will Bring:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering program from an accredited university.
• Interest in municipal engineering, transportation, utilities, land development, or public infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other engineering design software is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
