Job summary

WSB offers a National Internship Program where civil engineering students gain real-world experience. Interns assist with municipal infrastructure projects, support engineers with calculations and reports, and learn industry standards in a collaborative setting.

Eligible candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, with interest in municipal projects, and preferably familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Full participation in a team-based environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering program from an accredited university.
• Interest in municipal engineering, transportation, utilities, land development, or public infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other engineering design software is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the design and preparation of plans for municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, drainage, and public improvements.
• Supporting engineers with design calculations, cost estimates, and technical analyses.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports, specifications, permit applications, and other project documentation.
• Reviewing engineering drawings, plans, and technical documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Participating in project meetings, site visits, and field observations.
• Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions for municipal clients.
• Supporting project coordination, data collection, and research activities.
• Learning industry standards, engineering practices, and municipal design processes while contributing to active projects.
